We are poets ...

The bear is in my hair.
The bear is on my chair.
My bear is in my pear.

Three little butterflies flying all day.
One broke his wing
and he couldn't fly again.

I made recycled paper ...

We collected all the paper from each classroom and the big kids helped us shred it.  We added lots of water and left it over the weekend.  We added more water and an adult wizzed it to make it look like porridge before we swept the frame through the pulp.

Tip the frame to get the water off

Use the sponge to push the water through the pulp

Put the plastic sheet on top of the pulp and turn it over.

Take the frame off.

Carefully peel off the fine mesh.
Push down with the sponge to get all the water out.
Put in the sun to dry.
Ta da ... Recycled paper.

Room 3's favourite books from home

I like my book because it is about bears.  The book is all about a dirty bear but Toby loves him.
Portia-May
I like my book because my sister and I like it.  It is a bit naughty and funny.  Hamish

If I could change the end of my book the rhino might die.  Another ending might be Spider Man can not untie the kid or Spider Man will get trapped in the cave.  Jack

If I could change the end of my book Mickey might die.  Another ending might be the prince will stay swapped or the prince stays.  My last ending will be Mickey will get trapped in the cave.  Jabin

If I could change the end of my book Belle can not save the birthdays.  Another end might be Belle will do magic or the goblin will get killed.  My last ending is that Belle gets hurt. Tessa

John Parsons visit

John Parsons came to school on Tuesday to talk to the children about people asking for their permission to take photos.  He showed a video about people helping each other and being kind and another video about using passwords and downloading on the computer. He emphasised that parents need to be aware of what their child is doing on these devices by nurturing open lines of communication and if things do go wrong use this as a teachable moment.
