The Sherrif Callie Cafe

We all enjoyed making a variety of cookies from the new less sugar cookbook the Home and School are selling as a fundraiser.  We then decided to have a cafe in Room 3 and sell flavoured water, cookies and hot chocolates.  We invited every class in the school to come to our cafe and gave them all $10 to spend.  It was a good way to practise our maths by working out the change.  

The Gruffulo Show

We loved going to 'The Gruffulo Show' today at the Civic Theatre in Invercargill.

We are now a Sunsmart School

Today we made some really cool beads that change colour when you go out in the sun.  We learnt why it is important to be sunsmart and we got awarded with a plaque and certificate from the Cancer Society for becoming a Sunsmart School.

Popcorn

Alyssa and Maddison read a story during reading rotation called 'Pop, Pop, Pop' where they learnt how to cook popcorn from popcorn kernels.  They wanted to try making some popcorn after this so off they went to the staffroom to do so and made enough for the entire class.   Everyone enjoyed eating it and this became the writing topic for the day.
